It's First Friday!

Imaginary scenes inspired by one-of-a-kind Missoulians are on display in mixed media at Betty's Divine. During the transition of moving away from this beautiful town, Amber Sturgis created these works for some of the loved ones who made saying fair-well so bittersweet.

5-8pm tonight, yo. We'll have wine and cookies, and I guarantee that the store will be full of beautiful people.

On another note, we just got in new nail polish colors. Be your own canvas.

And, on yet another note, Happy Birthday Karen!

The Next Generation of Betty.

It doesn't get much more Betty than.....

RODEO QUEEN!

This here is my lovely 7-year-old niece, Laura Lena Mote, who was just crowned Central Oregon's Pee Wee Rodeo Queen. She's pictured here with her old horse, Federalli.

She didn't just have to look good to win this crown, she had to run some barrels and tie up some calves to boot!

Her hat, her throw-back Vintage inspired Western boots(sadly, you can't really see them....), her plaid shirt and her blingy belt are just the look we at Betty's can really get behind!

Way to start early, Cowgirl!

Betty loves a Demo Derby

August in Montana means the state fair-and with that comes the Demolition Derby! The Demo Derby is right up Betty's alley, and for the first time ever she sponsored a car!

We gathered the troops and went down to the fairgrounds to cheer on our station wagon and celebrate the end of the sale.

Lauren and his guys at Home Resource souped up this badass car and readied it for the rumble.

While we waited for things to get started we checked out the fashion scene in the bleachers. This Betty is doing the fair right in her white Seychelles (from the store!) and her adorable little dress. It takes a brave lady to dress this classy at the derby, and we gave her major thumbs up.

We love us some stunah shades.

This guy had a country fair look we could really get behind.

This was one of favorite cars from the first round. It was tough and the driver was awesome.

Karen got to try her first corn dog EVER! She liked it. We also ate a ton of Vikings. Yum.

The stands were packed. Who knew that this is such a popular activity for a summer night. After going, I understand why.

We enjoyed some delicious corn on the cob. Thanks Rainbow Girls! For the record: Fair food rules!

Somebody won his lady a stuffed cow.

Last year the police department sponsored a car. I guess they got kind of picked on out there in the mud.

There's our beauty in action!

Our sign fell off and they had to stop the derby to remove it from the arena. That was pretty exciting. But then we locked bumpers with another car, and after that we were pretty much left alone. Nobody wanted to waste their bumping and smashing power on a car that couldn't move. That was sad.

Here's the car that lead to our demise. Booooooo.

Lauren and his crew wore matching jump suits. You can guess how stoked we were about that! We were all there in our sale uniforms.

Our car made it out with relatively little structural damage since noone would smash into it. Next year it's gonna have better tires and be a real contender. Just you wait!

It's Time to Golf!!!

September is quickly approaching, and with September comes Missoula's First Urban Golf Day! Here's the dirt:
Sunday September 12th
The course takes you on a lovely, scenic tour of Missoula beginning at Flipper's front porch and ending with a long drive South on Higgins Ave...and with the streets closed for Sunday Streets, you'll really be able to give that ball a whack!
Supplies you'll need: an old, second-hand golf club, at least 3 tennis balls (use a sharpie to give your ball a signature identification marking) and a pen to record scores. A sense of humor. An amazing golf-inspired outfit.... It's free!

Email: aimee@bettysdivine.com to sign up for a tee time.

They are available between 9 am and 12:30 pm on the quarter of the hour....there's only 14 slots available for groups of no more than 6, so do yourself and your friends a favor, and sign up! You won't regret it! In fact, you won't find anything better to do in September....Well, except maybe the Hip Strip Block Party and its AMAZING Fashion Show...more about that later though! Don't want to overstimulate you....

One of our own is Wed!

Haven, one of our favorite and dearest of past employees got hitched last weekend, and boy did she do it with classic style.

She's the first of any of our employees to get married since we opened 5 years ago!

All of her bouquets were unique, and made of one single kind of flower. Her 9, count them, bridesmaids wore various dresses in shades of tan and nude.

We loved her vintage looking veil!

The littles got decked out in their finest.

Aimee and I resurrected these dresses from a past Big Blowout to become renegade bridesmaids. Yes, we wore the same dress on purpose.

A western buckle and initialed belt were just the ticket for a western wedding.

So was a meal of roasted veggies, bean salad, and MT beef burgers.

Haven + Jon sitting in a tree...

We fit right in with the wedding party in our feather and leather earrings!

Haven's seersucker printed dress was simply gorgeous.

Jon, the groom, was looking extra handsome in a brown suit.

Most of the wedding party, and a lot of the guests, followed in the groom's footsteps and wore cowboy boots for the get-down portion of the party.

Haven's African dog CAU (pronounced cow) put on her pearls.

The ho-down was held at the awesome Springhill Pavilion in Belgrade, MT- the same dance hall that was shown in A River Runs through It.

Oh, yeah. The band was rockin'!

We had fun reuniting with Tess, who has been in Glacier all summer.

Toasting the happy couple with Cooks!

Beautiful, native sage decorated the tables.

The next day we mozied into Bozeman and happened upon a parade!

We love parades, but clowns are creepy!

The people of Bozeman were wearing an unnatural number of sport sandals. We just had to call them out.

Then we headed on into the nearby National Parks of Jellystone and the Tetons! Betty's shades kept us cool in the sunshine, and a shout out to P.M. Tenore and his small line of RVCA sportswear!

Joel was unusually color coordinated for our jaunt in the woods.

His shorts were extra dorky, though!

The awesome weekend concluded with a look at some hot pools and a ride on a dinosaur.

We wish you a lifetime of happiness Haven and Jon!
Thanks for such a good time!
